The new Blackdog development is only 5 miles north of Aberdeen city centre and the Aberdeen Ferry Terminal. It’s located just off the A90 and the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR), directly linking the site to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and beyond.
The new AWPR – one of the largest infrastructure projects in Scotland - is due to complete in 2018 and will provide direct access into Blackdog. It will reduce journey times in some parts of north east Scotland by up to 50% and populations accessible from Blackdog will increase significantly.
Blackdog benefits from a national and international outreach with direct and fast connections to the rest of Scotland, the UK and Europe.
A proposed park and ride facility from Blackdog to Aberdeen will provide efficient and regular transport links from and to the city centre.
A proposed cycle network running from Balmedie to Aberdeen via Blackdog will provide environmentally-friendly transport to and from the development. It will also connect to the national cycle network – integrating Blackdog into Aberdeenshire and the rest of Scotland.
Aberdeen International Airport lies just 9 miles away from Blackdog with key connections to the rest of the UK and Europe including Norway, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
